How Does The MaxiPod® Work?
MaxiPod® Thermal Storage Systems work by reversing the function of the Primary (Heating) and Secondary (Domestic) waters.
The Primary water is stored in the cylinder and heated by a boiler or renewables. When heated by a boiler, the water can also be pumped from the thermal store around your heating system, to provide space heating.
Fast, Efficient Hot Water
The secondary water comes directly from the mains or pumped cold water storage and passes through a specially designed heat exchanger, which draws heat from the MaxiPod® thermal store.
This water then passes through a thermostatic mixing valve, which blends it to the correct temperature before providing fresh hot and cold drinkable water straight to your taps. This constantly moving water does not allow legionella harbouring bacteria to grow and means your water is always safe!
The secondary water comes directly from the mains and passes through a specially designed heat exchanger which draws heat from the MaxiPod thermal store.
This water then passes through a thermostatic mixing valve which blends it to the correct temperature before it reaches the taps.

Low Flow Installation Guide
Q: When should the cylinder be on a stand?
A: Whenever the cylinder and the stove are on the same floor then the cylinder should be placed on a stand with the bottom of the cylinder no lower than the top of the stove/boiler.
Q: When should I use the low flow connection?
A: Whenever the cylinder and the stove are on the same floor the low flow will reduce or even stop back circulation.
